Step of preparing E-content?
There are ideally five steps to follow, from the planning of the e-content preparation to the finalization.
1. Analysis phase
2. Design phase
3. Development phase
4. Test phase
5. Finalization phase
1. Analysis phase: -
Educators call this stage of e-content preparation the most important. Because at this stage all the factors are considered for the preparation of this content. Some of the important issues to consider at this stage and to decide on those issues immediately are ---
- Which subject will be created on the object?
- What are the learning outcomes associated with that content?
- For which class of students will the e-content be created?
- What is the curriculum suitable for implementing the relevant content in the classroom?
- What is the level of ability and tendency of the students in that class?
- What teaching and learning strategies are prescribed in the curriculum for that subject?
- What materials are available to implement the content in the classroom?
Analyze the above topics to get a good idea about the content of the textbook and verify the suitability of e-content preparation on that topic.
2. Design phase: -
At this stage, it is important to plan for the preparation of e-content. Adequate proficiency in the content is important at this stage. If anyone has the ability to create e-content using only PowerPoint, they should definitely not plan to create video content. So at this stage you have to decide, which software will be used to create e-content. At this stage you also have to plan what kind of text and pictures will be in the content. At this stage, it is also decided how the relevant content will be used in the management of the lesson.
3. Development phase: -
At this stage e-content is basically prepared. The planning of the previous step is to start creating content at this stage. Content writing and image input are given as per plan. The required color design can be attached to make the content interactive. Texts and animations can be provided in the appropriate cases. Sound suitable for students can be added. It is important to consider students' aptitude and ability to create e-content. No complex images or text should be attached that are difficult for students to understand. In addition, it is important to keep in mind that the content prepared for beginner students has more pictures than text.
4. Testing phase: -
At this stage, the prepared e-content has to be tested. This test can be done in two ways. One is technical and the other is feasible. The first step is to see if the content is technically correct. The content will then be presented to the class of students for whom it was created. If necessary, a lesson can be conducted using that content. They can be monitored while the content is playing. Observations will show how much they are interested. Finally their opinion can be taken. Content evaluation checklists can be used for feedback.
5. Finalization phase: -
E-content is finalized by making necessary changes and refinements at this stage based on the results obtained at the test stage.
An e-content can be created for a specific lesson or on a specific content. So a certain process needs to be followed in content preparation. The above steps for creating e-content are not specific or statutory. This process may change if necessary. Many things are now available on the Internet due to the advancement of technology. If someone creates e-content based on a textbook and shares it online, it can be used for specific text. But the content that is openly available on the Internet is not always based on the content of the textbook. In that case you have to find the content that matches the subject of the textbook. It can be audio, video, presentation, anything. The most important thing to remember when creating or collecting e-content is to help students learn effectively and achieve the expected learning outcomes.
